Car Diagnostics..where Do I Connect To?

i have a ford galaxy 2003 model 2.3litre automatic and want to do diagnostics and have the OBD diagnostic tool but where do i plug this into??. Any help appreciated. I need exact location where the socket is..is it in engine, or inside vehicle????

Hi there look under lower edge of dash not in but under fuse box flap (purple colour socket)

i think i might be able to help on this one look under centre console ashtray prise the cover underneath ashtray out bobs your uncle.. hope this helps
